Websites, Blogs and Newsletters

As late as the early 1990s, if you were a carpenter, attorney, doctor, or plumber, all you needed to support your business was to hang out a shingle and place a few newspaper ads. Nowadays, you need to do much more. Even basic websites, blogs and newsletters can help you stay competitive.

In fact, whether, you're taking up carpentry as your second occupation or it is your main source of income, websites, blogs and newsletters can do much more than keep you competitive. They may even provide a significant revenue stream that rivals or surpasses your main source of income.

Through the use of affiliate marketing, placing ads and content links of others on your sites/blogs/newsletters, you can earn commissions from other related products.

For instance, if you are a home repair specialist, collecting email addresses from your customers is simple and rewarding. With those email addresses, you have a built-in subscriber list for an email newsletter, which costs next to nothing to distribute. In that newsletter, you can use articles and tips from article directories (no cost), your own tips (no cost) and include links to companies like Home Depot and others that pay you a commission when someone clicks one of their ads or content links in your newsletter and buys something from them. A good place to find good affiliate programs is through ClickBank.com, LinkShare.com, and CommissionJunction.com.

You can do it with a newsletter, a website (very inexpensive nowadays and simple to build) and blogs (again, no cost to you).

I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don't know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.
